HT-RADAR Monthly Updates

Presented to the San Diego Regional HT and CSEC Advisory Council on April 4, 2020.
The practices of the HT-RADAR program at the Center for Justice & Reconciliation at PLNU include:
- Aggregating regional human trafficking related research;
- Convening and facilitating collaboration between human trafficking data analysts and researchers working in the region;
- Facilitating the networking between practitioners, data analysts, and researchers;
- Identifying potential human trafficking research funding for researchers studying human trafficking in the region;
- Improving public knowledge of the results of research related to human trafficking across multiple disciplines and sectors through regular research updates, and an annual research conference.

New HT-RADAR Program Director hired: Clara Anne Wagner
We are pleased to announce the hiring of Clara Anne Wagner as the new Program Director for HT-RADAR. Clara Anne joins us from The International Rescue Committee in Phoenix, Arizona. At the IRC Clara Anne was the Direct Services Manager for programs that address the vulnerable populations whom require intensive services in the Phoenix region. She was also responsible for community outreach and partnerships, grant writing and management and monitoring and evaluation of all program activities.
Her passion is working with the population that have been exploited by human trafficking, and we are thrilled to have her join our team. She begins remote work in April, with plans to move to San Diego in May. Next HT-RADAR Quarterly Meeting: May 2020
Dr. Lianne Urada, with social work graduate student co-investigators Lauren Azar, Christian Cacho, and John Kennon, will present the extent of and intersections between human trafficking (sex trade and sexual exploitation), housing instability, and food insecurity among San Diego State University students.

HT-RADAR Website
The HT-RADAR website has new funding opportunities, upcoming conferences, information about the HT-RADAR Research Conference and access to the abstracts from all Conference speakers’ presentations.
Phase Two of the website update will begin in April and will include building a directory of research articles and reports and evaluating the website to improve access to information for researchers and colleagues.
